As a tragic hero, what was Mel Gibson's tragic flaw?

I think a bit of everything you've mentioned played a role, but I believe his true downfall began when his marriage ended. I believe his wife (Robyn) was a stabilizing force in his life in many ways. Once she was out of the picture I think Mel lost control of his demons.
