Smallville question?

Ok so i finished up watching season 8 and since jimmy died lex died and lionell died and kara is no where to be found and lana cant see clark anymore and martha is working in dc it seems like its all has fallen apart and everyone is gone does that change in season 9 or anything because im dissapointed right now
