Do Intelligent Design-ists understand Design?

Your question is comical. How can you, as a human being, judge the design when you only have access to one small, tiny view of the design. That would be like saying you are an expert car mechanic just because you know how to change the oil. Even if you could see the the design, do you really think your feeble human mind could understand it?
