I live in the Det suburbs & am wondering if anyone knows of an organization deals with minor charged as adults?

I recently read an article called From Time Out to Hard time, which said that kids going through puberty don't have a developed mental state that gives them the sense of right and wrong. I really want to get involved in correcting the law that enables courts to charge minors as adults. I would like to know if anyone knows of an organization that I can volunteer at.
