My mom had servical cancer, whats the chance of me getting it? Is it hereditary?

There is a link between your mother having it and possibly you having it. My mum died from cervical cancer when I was 11... I'm 19 now. Just make sure you get that HPV jab. However this does not work as well if you have already had . Still worth having it though. They only offer it free on the NHS for girls aged 14-18 I believe. Not men even though it's mostly men that will contract HPV. STUPID! I managed to get mine recently at the age of 19 because of my mum they let me have it. Has your mum had the all clear?
