I have been TTC 2 years with PCOS. Doc has me on metformin alone. Can metpfomin alone help??

I have a lot of excess facial hair and it's caused from too much testosterone. I am only 26 years old but fear I could be going into early menopause. I want to know why my doc. has put me on metformin alone. We can't aford fertility drugs pr treatment. Any advice to help me?
